Reverend Timothy

Reverend Timothy was born in Italy and lived during the persecution of the holy icons. From early youth had worked in the monastery "Symbol" of Mount Olympus in Asia Minor. With him was active and the Reverend Platon. Reaching of spiritual perfection, the Rev. Timothy received the gift of healing the sick and the expulsion of unclean spirits. He was one of the ardent defenders of icons. According to the commandment of the king-iconoclast Constantine Copronymus, St. Timothy was exiled in Tauris (Crimea), on the site of the present Balaklava (Sevatopol). He died at a ripe old age, in the year 795
